HIPO Strategy:
The HIPO strategy involves identification, development, and support. It is a collaborative effort among Heads of L&D, managers, and HRBPs to identify individuals likely to succeed in critical roles. Formal and informal development opportunities, such as training, stretch assignments, and rotations, are given to HIPOs to boost their development and engagement. Peer connections, networking opportunities, mentorships, and sponsorships with senior leaders are provided throughout a formal program to support HIPOs. The strategy aims to develop future leaders and retain top talent for key positions.
A Gartner survey highlighted that: Despite all of their hard work and discretionary effort HIPOs today are 38% more likely to want to leave than non-HIPOs. In this essence: It would be widely acceptable that HIPOs are struggling personally.
